FIRE COMPARTMENTATION

PROFESSIONAL & RELIABLE FIRE SAFETY SOLUTIONS

FIRE COMPARTMENTATION

Compartmentation is a fundamental principle of fire safety design that helps protect people and property during a fire. By creating fire-resistant compartments within a building, flames, heat, and smoke are contained to the area of origin for a specified period of time. This containment provides critical time for occupants to evacuate safely and for emergency services to respond effectively. Fire-rated barriers, properly sealed service penetrations, fire doors, and protected shafts all play an essential role in maintaining the integrity of these compartments. When correctly designed, installed, and maintained, compartmentation significantly reduces the risk of fire spreading rapidly throughout a building, limiting damage and potentially saving lives.

FIRE STOPPING

Fire stopping is best described as the sealing of any openings to prevent fire, smoke and heat from entering through multiple building compartments. We work alongside trusted and accredited fire stoppers to reduce the risk of fire and smoke spreading within your building. We can assist with fire boarding, fire barriers or timber and fabric protection to ensure that your premises is as protected as possible. We work with fire stoppers that are members of Construction Line (Gold), CHAS, FPA, ASFP and possess a silver supply chain sustainability

Our installation experts use a range of fire-stopping materials and techniques to seal gaps between fire-resisting elements and service penetrations in floors, walls and ceilings, slab edge, wall heads and more, thus maintaining the integrity of the compartment line.

Such sealing systems can be made up of:

  • Intumescent Mastics
  • High-Pressure Mastics
  • Ablative Batts
  • Fire Barriers
  • Fire Compounds
  • Fire Collars and Wraps
